Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced that he is suspending his public activities to consider his future, NOVA reported.
His decision comes shortly after the news that his wife is being investigated for corruption and influence peddling.
Sanchez said he needed time to consider whether he wanted to continue in politics. In a written statement he wrote that I quote - "urgently needed an answer" about whether it is worth staying at the head of management.
Media in Spain claim that Sánchez's wife used his position to secure sponsors for her activities as a university lecturer.
