British King Charles III will resume public engagements next week after making encouraging progress in his cancer treatment, it has been announced Buckingham Palace, BNR reported.
Although this is not a full return to the official engagements of the king, the signals from the palace are positive, commented the British media. However, Charles' treatment, which began in February, continues and no end date has been announced. The king will start next Tuesday with a symbolic trip to a cancer treatment center. His summer plans include a state visit, hosting the Emperor and Empress of Japan.
In the coming weeks, the king will take on more external engagements, the palace said. However, it is possible that he will miss out on some of the biggest events on the calendar. The official statement from the palace said that “doctors are very encouraged by the progress made so far and remain positive about the King's continued recovery.
The type of cancer was again not disclosed. The media meanwhile released a photo of the King and Camilla taken earlier this month in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
