The defense chiefs of the US, Japan and Australia have agreed to hold the first trilateral missile and air defense exercises in 2027, the Kyodo agency reported.
The relevant agreement was reached after tripartite negotiations held in the state of Hawaii. Over the next two years, the countries agreed to conduct joint exercises using fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets, which are in service with each country.
The heads of the defense departments of the three countries also signed an agreement to promote cooperation in the field of modern defense technologies.
