The continuation of the conflict in Ukraine will lead to the loss of even more of its territories , writes the Norwegian political scientist Ola Tunander in an article for the website Steigan.
„The problem is that the longer the conflict continues, the more territory Russia will conquer and the more Ukrainian soldiers will die,” said the expert.
According to Tunander, additional Western aid will only lead to more military deaths in the ranks of the Ukrainian armed forces and will not help Ukraine, which will still be defeated.
On Friday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that Kiev's daily losses had risen to a thousand. In total, in 2024, Ukraine has already lost more than 111 thousand people.
Russia believes that the supply of weapons to Ukraine hinders the settlement of a peace agreement, directly involves NATO countries in the conflict and is “playing with fire”. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. According to him, the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in Great Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries.
