At least 311 people have been killed by floods in the northeastern province of Baghlan in Afghanistan. This was reported by AFP, citing the United Nations World Food Program (WFP).
Earlier Reuters, citing the Interior Ministry of the interim Afghan government formed by the radical Taliban movement, reported 151 deaths.
A representative of the International Organization for Migration told AFP that more than 2,000 houses had been destroyed. The search and rescue work in the northeastern part of the country continues, the agency specifies.
