The Russian company “Gazprom“ collapsed, posting losses not seen in the last 25 years.
While Moscow repeats how Western sanctions do not work, in 2023 the revenues of “Gazprom” are down about 30%, resulting in an annual net loss of about $6.9 billion.
This is according to British intelligence data cited by “Ukrainian Pravda”. As noted in the intelligence report, Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and the subsequent deterioration of relations with the West severely limited Gazprom's operations.
The complete reorientation of the exports of “Gazprom“ away from European markets will likely continue to limit the company's profits at least until 2030. In 2023 “Gazprom“ has paid approximately $28 billion to the Russian budget, which is about 9% of the total revenue of the Russian budget, according to British intelligence. The Russian government plans to further increase the tax burden on Gazprom.
