In the accidental detonation of an explosive device from the Second World War, 7 servicemen from the military academy "S. M. Budyoni" in St. Petersburg, Interfax agency reported, quoted by BTA, referring to a message from the Leningrad Military District.
The servicemen were injured during an inspection of underground areas in St. Petersburg, the Russian military added.
The governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, denied that the blast was related to a terrorist act, Reuters notes.
