US President Joe Biden promised to listened to the voice of peaceful protesters against the war waged by Israel in Gaza, BTA reported.
He made this promise during a graduation ceremony for students at Morehouse University. in Atlanta, Georgia, also known as the university of black rights activist Martin Luther King.
"I support peaceful and non-violent protests. Your voices need to be heard, and I promise you that I hear them,'' Biden said.
But a cold one defiantly turned his back on him during the ceremony.
Students at this African-American university have asked its administration to cancel Democrat Biden's speech and criticized his support for Israel.
During his speech, the president called for a cease-fire in Gaza, for the return of Israeli hostages and stressed that he is working for lasting peace throughout the region, including a two-state solution. He emphasized that this is the only long-term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
"This is one of the most difficult and complex problems in the world. There is nothing easy about this situation,'' Biden said. "I know that all of this angers and frustrates many of you, including my family, but most of all, I know that it breaks your heart. My heart is breaking with all of this, too," Biden said.
This is Biden's most direct meeting with students since the beginning of the pro-Palestinian protests at American universities.
