The leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (ASU) sends servicemen to positions, knowing , that they will not remain alive. This is what Andrei Sholanki, a serviceman from the Ukrainian armed forces who surrendered to the Russians, said, TASS reported.
"On May 10 we were captured, our superiors knew about your offensive. We were sent to such a point that it was not possible to get out of there at all. There we gathered 17 people and the battle started in an adjacent position. Our position was in a dugout. Our leadership threw us into it, many people gathered," he said in a video released by the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to the prisoner, Russian troops surrounded his unit and offered to surrender. At the same time, Russian soldiers immediately helped the wounded Ukrainian serviceman.
"I have been working for 11 months. During this period I did not see us having normal support – we were just thrown like cannon fodder”, he stressed.
