The forces of the United States and the United Kingdom carried out at least six airstrikes yesterday against the international airport of the city of Hodeidah in Yemen and more four strikes on the island of Kamaran in the Red Sea, reported the television of the Yemeni Houthi rebels, quoted by Reuters and BTA.
The strikes on Kamaran were the first against the island by US-led coalition forces since airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen began in early February.
They followed the Houthis' first successful strike with an explosives-laden maritime drone and recent missile strikes that damaged the cargo ships "Tutor" and "Verbana" during last week. Both ships are currently abandoned by their crews and adrift, and the "Tutor" is in danger of sinking, military and security experts note.
