At least 12 people were killed in attacks by the Israeli armed forces in the town of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources reported, quoted by DPA, quoted by BTA.
Israeli tanks, backed by warplanes and drones, today entered deep into the western part of the city, local residents and Palestinian medics said. It is not yet clear whether the 12 dead are civilians or fighters.
The information cannot be independently verified. The Israeli army said it was investigating the incident.
Earlier, local residents and Palestinian medics quoted by Reuters reported eight killed in Rafah after Israeli tanks entered.
The war was sparked by an unprecedented attack by fighters from the Palestinian movement “Hamas” and other groups in Israel on October 7, killing over 1,200 people.
According to the “Hamas“ health authorities at least 37,396 people have been killed and another 85,523 injured in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war. This data does not distinguish between civilians and combatants. They cannot be independently verified.
