At least 18 people killed in terrorist attacks in northeastern Nigeria - 1

At least 18 people were killed and 30 injured in terrorist attacks in the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno, the local emergency service said, quoted from Reuters, quoted by BTA.

For the past 15 years, Borno has been under attack by Islamist groups that have killed thousands of local residents and forced millions from their homes. Although the Nigerian military has managed to limit the capacity of Islamist militants, they still carry out deadly attacks on civilians and attack security forces.

Barkindo Sadu, head of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency, said there were three separate attacks in Gwoza town on Saturday. Suicide bombers attacked the participants of a wedding ceremony, people gathered for a funeral, as well as a hospital and a hospital in the town of Gwoza. Sadu indicated that 18 people have been confirmed dead, including two children and a pregnant woman, and at least 30 are injured.

So far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the most active terrorist groups in Borno are "Boko Haram" and "Islamic State - West Africa Province", notes Reuters.
