Today President Rumen Radev will deliver the opening remarks at the 28th Annual Government Roundtable organized by the English-language magazine "Economist" (The Economist) in Athens, BTA reported. The address to the forum participants is part of a working visit of the Bulgarian head of state to the Republic of Greece, where he is accompanied by his wife Desislava Radeva.

During his visit to our southern neighbor, President Rumen Radev will hold meetings with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and with the country's President Katerina Sakellaropoulou. It is expected to discuss the deepening of cooperation within the framework of the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and Greece for the region, as well as topics of mutual interest for both countries with an emphasis on energy, connectivity, transport and the economy, along with issues from the European and international agenda.

This year, the international economic forum of "Economist", which is traditionally held in the Greek capital, will be held under the title "On a spiral from conflicts in search of opportunities – Geopolitics; Environment; Technologies". At the table for discussions will sit high-ranking government representatives, as well as representatives of business, finance, international institutions and academia. They will discuss the challenges facing the world arising from the worsening geopolitical conflicts, climate change and the global economy and the search for opportunities to overcome them, the organizers of the forum report.

The 28th Annual Government Roundtable in Athens is expected to be attended by Daniel Franklin, executive editor and senior editor of the Economist magazine, Eurogroup President Pascal Donahue, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of Moldova Dorin Rechan, the Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Dumitru Alaiba, the Minister of Energy of Moldova Viktor Parlikov, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Jordan Ayman Safadi, the Nobel laureate in economics Paul Krugman, the Stanford University professor and American philosopher Francis Fukuyama, and the foreign minister of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, and the US assistant secretary of state for energy resources, Jeffrey Pyatt, will join the discussions via video link.
