In an article for the British newspaper Daily Mail, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, suggested that Kiev give up its request to restore the borders from 1991, reports Focus.
In the text, Johnson comments on the conversation he had with the US presidential candidate from the Republican Party, Donald Trump.
According to Johnson, he understands the reality that the loss of Kiev's military “would be a huge defeat for America”.
„Trump can end the conflict under the right conditions for Kiev and the West: to return the Russian Federation back to the borders of 2022 and give Ukraine the opportunity to join the European Union and NATO, the former British is confident prime minister.
To achieve this, Johnson proposes to provide Kiev with the necessary weapons and all permits for their use. In the future, he believes, a well-armed Ukrainian army may even replace the American contingent in Europe.
According to him, Moscow may be offered “special protection measures” of Russian speakers in Ukraine.
„With Trump in the White House, there will be a real prospect of a global rapprochement with Moscow and the possibility of returning to the times when the Russian Federation was a respected partner of the G-8,” Johnson also wrote.
