A Palestinian man stabbed an elderly woman and injured three people in central Israel , before being shot dead by police, Reuters reported, citing a statement from the authorities.
The knife attacks took place during the morning rush hour in the city of Holon, close to Tel Aviv.
The knife attack took place near a gas station and a park, the Israeli emergency service said.
A 66-year-old woman was killed, two other elderly citizens were seriously injured and taken to hospital. A younger man was also injured.
"There is a large police force at the scene conducting extensive searches with a helicopter and additional resources," police said in a statement. The attacker was shot and "neutralized", according to the same source.
