Ukraine's air defenses shot down 52 Russian drones in a massive airstrike last night, Ukrinform reported. In the combined attack, the Russian army fired a total of 80 drones and 4 Iskander-M missiles, BTA reports.
The attack began at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, with its main targets in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk and Kherson regions. According to the Ukrainian air defense (AVO), the strike was repelled with the participation of aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems combat, unmanned aerial vehicles and mobile fire groups.
According to preliminary information, the air defense managed to neutralize 52 targets in eastern, southern and northern Ukraine. Of these, 15 drones were directly shot down, and another 37 disappeared from radars - probably as a result of electronic countermeasures.
Air strikes were carried out on 12 settlements.
Earlier this morning, Ukrinform reported that six people, including a child, were injured in a Russian strike in Kharkiv.
