The publisher of the far-right political magazine “Compact” (Compact), which was recently banned by the German government, attacked the cabinet in Berlin and today announced its support for Russian President Vladimir Putin, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

Jürgen Elzesser received a standing ovation for his speech at a meeting of the far-right Alternative for Germany party. (AzG) in the eastern province of Saxony-Anhalt.

Elsesser called Interior Minister Nancy Feser a fascist, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius –a war criminal, and insulted Green Party leader Ricarda Lang in his opening remarks at the AfD conference.

„And of course, I will not be forbidden to say: I am a supporter of Putin”, Elzesser declared to the applause of the crowd.

Elsesser's magazine was banned by the German interior ministry on July 16 because it was said to have become a “center-right extremist mouthpiece”.

But Elzesser recently won a preliminary court victory because judges expressed doubts about the proportionality of the government's actions and overturned the ban, at least for now.

The decision of the Federal Administrative Court of Germany means that the magazine can be published again, but under certain conditions.

However, the court has not yet made a final decision on the matter.

Elzesser exuded confidence at the AFG conference in the city of Magdeburg and said his legal success showed that "victory is possible".

He welcomed the AsG's march to power in the upcoming parliamentary elections in the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
