Russia believes that at some point the United States will lift all restrictions on the use of weapons supplied to Ukraine. This was stated by the Russian ambassador to the USA, Anatoly Antonov, quoted by “Reuters” and News.bg.
„The current government behaves like a man who holds out one hand and holds a dagger behind his back with the other,” he noted and described Washington's recent statement that Kiev has no right to use American weapons to strike deep into Russian territory as “incitement”.
„They are essentially laying the groundwork for a decision to simply remove all existing restrictions at a certain point without much thought,” pointed out Antonov.
The United States has provided Ukraine with military aid worth more than $50 billion since 2022, but has limited the use of these weapons only to operations on Ukrainian territory, as well as to counterattacks and defensive cross-border operations.
According to Antonov, a serious dialogue with the USA will be possible only if they end the “hostile” its policy towards Russia, which includes the support of Ukraine and the implementation of sanctions against Moscow.
Antonov categorically stated that Moscow does not plan to interfere in the upcoming US presidential elections.
