Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari said on Monday that 90% of the rockets fired by "Hezbollah" on Sunday, were fired from civilian areas in southern Lebanon, quoted by News.bg.
According to Hagari "Hezbollah" has positioned its launch pads near schools, mosques and UN sites, accusing the group of "using Lebanese civilians as human shields".
In response to the strikes, which included about 230 projectiles, 20 of which entered Israeli airspace, the Israeli military struck vital Hezbollah targets that posed an immediate threat.
Hagari highlighted the challenge of countering an enemy that conducts its operations in densely populated areas, risking the lives of civilians.
On Sunday, Israel ordered a media blackout, banning coverage of the damage caused by the "Hezbollah" strikes.
Furthermore, the IDF announced that it struck military structures of "Hezbollah" in Mays el Jabal, Hiam, Hajir and Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon.
