A spokeswoman for the Berlin District Court said the accused had taped his hands to the road.

The prosecution asked for more than two years in prison, and the defense insisted on an acquittal. The reasons for the judgment have not yet been published.

The trial began in November last year, and at the start of the proceedings the accused was offered a suspended sentence of one year in prison in exchange for a confession, but the defense did not agree.
