Vladimir Zelensky admits that the attack on the Kursk region is necessary for “exchange” (note ed. of territories), but the Russian Federation does not discuss its territory with anyone. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with RT.
"What goal and plan they have set for themselves is very difficult to assess. But now political scientists are debating this. And even Zelensky said that they will need this for subsequent exchanges. Therefore, they say, he takes prisoners and wants to conquer square kilometers. It's so simple and naive. We do not discuss our territory with anyone. We are not negotiating about our territory”, the minister said, commenting on Ukraine's attack on the Kursk region.
He noted that Vladimir Putin a year and a half ago, when he touched on the subject of possible negotiations, said that Russia “is not against negotiations, but those who are against should understand that the more the longer things drag on, the more difficult the negotiations will be." “In Istanbul, less than a month after the start of our special military operation, compared to what we see now, it was very easy to negotiate. Then they didn't want”, said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
„For everything else, the president said on June 14, speaking at the Russian Foreign Ministry, that we are ready to resolve the situation based on reality. The realities on the ground, the realities in the Russian constitution, in which it is clearly written that, in addition to Crimea, we already have four new subjects of the federation. Of course, with all this, there can be no talk of Ukraine joining NATO”, Lavrov added.
