Russian shelling in Sumy region: One dead and four injured  - 1

One was killed and four were wounded during Russian shelling in the area of Sumy region. This was announced by the local Ukrainian administration, reported "Reuters", quoted by News.bg.

"During the night and morning, the Russians carried out 18 shellings on border territories and settlements in the Sumy region. 47 explosions were registered," the administration announced on Telegram, with the message also stating that nine districts of the region were attacked.

Ukraine's air force said in a separate statement that it had destroyed 8 of 11 Russian drones.

"This time, the occupiers targeted Ukrainian grain and the logistics of the agricultural sector, especially in the Mykolaiv and Sumy regions," the Air Force said, without giving further details.

Sum Oblast borders Russia's Kursk Oblast, where Ukrainian forces launched a major cross-border incursion on August 6. Meanwhile, Russian troops continue to push towards the strategic center of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine.
