Military planes of Poland and its allies were activated early this morning to ensure safety in the airspace of the NATO country bordering Ukraine, Reuters reported, citing Polish armed forces. quoted by BTA.
The agency notes that this is the third time this has happened in the last eight days. A little earlier, the Ukrainian army announced a Russian drone attack on the city of Lviv, near the Polish border.
"This is another very busy night for the entire air defense system in Poland due to the observed activity of the long-range aviation of the Russian Federation, which carries out strikes," wrote the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces on the social platform “X“ (formerly “Twitter“).
At the end of last month, NATO condemned the "irresponsible actions" of Russia after its drone entered Poland's airspace.
"Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, fragments of Russian drones and missiles have been found on allied territory several times," Alliance spokeswoman Farah Dahlala reminded on August 26. "Although we have no information indicating a deliberate attack by Russia against allies, these actions are irresponsible and potentially dangerous,", she stressed.
