North Korea today launched a series of long-range ballistic missiles from its east coast, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA, saying referred to the army of South Korea.
In an earlier statement, the South Korean military spoke of an unspecified type of missile.
The agency then referred the Japanese Coast Guard. According to it, a North Korean missile, which is supposed to be ballistic, has fallen into the waters of the Sea of Japan.
There are no reports of damage, the Japanese news agency Kyodo reported, citing the country's government.
Missiles flew 360 kilometers before falling into the water, added South Korea's army, which strongly condemned Pyongyang's actions.
North Korea last fired a missile on July 1, Reuters recalls.
Missiles fired by Pyongyang are usually surface-to-surface, but may also have nuclear warheads, DPA said.
