Russia will not conduct nuclear tests as long as the US also refrains from such, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said today, quoted by TASS and Reuters, BTA reported.
Last week, the pro-government newspaper “Rossiyskaya Gazeta“ published an interview with Andrei Sinitsyn, the head of the Russian nuclear test site on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago, who stated that the site is ready to resume full-scale tests, Reuters recalls.
Ryabkov stated that the Russian actions on Novaya Zemlya were in response to similar actions by the US.
