The foreign ministers of the countries of the group of seven largest democracies (G-7) have warned that their actions and countermeasures in the Middle East threaten to drag the region into a larger conflict that will not benefit anyone, Reuters reported, quoted from BTA.
"The actions and responses threaten to escalate this dangerous spiral of violence and drag the entire Middle East into a wider regional conflict with unimaginable consequences," the G7 said in a statement after the group met on the sidelines of the General UN assembly.
Ministers called for an end to the current destructive cycle, while stressing that no country stands to gain from further escalation in the Middle East.
