The US State Department has approved the possible sale of 720 portable anti-aircraft missiles "Stinger" of Egypt for 740 million dollars, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA, referring to a Pentagon press release.
In Ukraine and its neighboring countries, there is a great demand for this type of missiles, because the Ukrainian army successfully uses them to repel Russian airstrikes, notes the British news agency.
Egypt will not use shoulder-mounted launchers for the Stinger missiles, but will place them on vehicles equipped with the Avenger launch system.
The rockets will be produced by the company "RTX Corporation" (RTX Corporation).
This summer, several NATO countries placed orders for Stinger missiles. worth nearly 700 million dollars, and their production and delivery will continue until 2029.
