The People's Liberation Army of China has successfully fired an intercontinental ballistic missile over the Pacific Ocean, China's Ministry of Defense said, as quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.
The statement said the test was not directed against any country and that it was conducted in accordance with international law.
Earlier, Taiwan's Ministry of Defense said it had recently seen "intense" missile launch by China accompanied by other military exercises. The agency added that 23 Chinese military aircraft were intercepted in the vicinity of Taiwan on Wednesday.
