A hurricane hit the Caribbean. Helena, which was classified as a tropical storm, has rapidly strengthened and is heading toward the Gulf of Mexico and Florida, NOVA reported.
It is currently about 700 kilometers from Tampa, with wind speeds of up to 145 kilometers per hour.
Residents of the coastal areas of the American state are already preparing for the hurricane, and the authorities urged people not to leave their homes. A severe weather warning is also in place for Cuba, where a large number of people have already been evacuated from coastal areas. Heavy rains and power outages are expected there.
