An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded overnight in Romania. It was followed by several aftershocks, according to a reference on the official website of the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), cited by BTA.
The strongest earthquake was 25 km north of Buzău and 9 km southwest of Ramniku Surat, at a depth of 22 km. The earthquake occurred at 01:48 local time (corresponds to Bulgarian time).
Aftershocks with a magnitude of 2.0 to 2.5 on the Richter scale were then recorded.
