Trump leads Harris by 1.2%, rejects another debate with the Democratic candidate - 1

< p>The Boston company "Active vote" (ActiVote) released today the results of a poll, according to which former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump is ahead of US Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris by 1.2 percent, BTA reported.

The poll was conducted between October 3 and 8 among 1,000 American voters and has a margin of error of 3.1 percent.

According to "Active" Trump leads among rural and suburban voters, while Harris leads among urban voters. Harris leads among younger voters (ages 18-49), and Trump leads among older voters (ages 50 and older).

Harris leads among women, while Trump leads among men.

Both get about 80% of those who are affiliated (in 30 states) or assumed to be affiliated (in 20 states) with their party, while Harris has a small lead among independents.

Trump leads among white voters, while Harris gets 73% of the black vote and a significant majority of 59% of the Hispanic vote, according to the Active Vote poll.

There are only small differences between the two presidential candidates in the income and education categories, where Harris has a slight lead among low-income and college-educated Americans.

Trump leads among voters with the highest incomes and those with a higher education, according to the data released on the website of "Act vote".

Meanwhile, he announced he would not debate Harris, hours after "Fox News" invited the two contenders for the presidential post to a second debate on either October 24 or 27, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

"There will be no reunion", Trump wrote on his social network "Truth Social". "There is nothing to debate."

The Republican added that the race for the White House is too advanced to stage a new debate.

Trump and Harris debated each other for the first and last time on September 10. The Republican then announced that there would be no more televised debates before the Nov. 5 election and declined an invitation from CNN for an Oct. 23 debate, which the Democratic nominee accepted.

From "Fox" said in a statement that a second debate "would give each of the candidates an opportunity to restate their arguments at the very end of the campaign".

Last week, Harris' running mate and Minnesota governor Tim Walz and Trump's running mate and US Senate member JD Vance debated in a televised duel between the two.

At the end of June, Trump took part in a debate with the then Democratic candidate and US President Joe Biden.

Biden withdrew from the presidential race less than a month after his disastrous performance in the televised duel. After him, Trump built a convincing lead in the polls over Biden, but subsequently, when Harris entered the race for the White House in Biden's place, the contest became contested again; according to some sociological studies, she even has a slight lead.

At the Sept. 10 debates, Harris put Trump on the defensive with a series of attacks on his fitness for office, his support for abortion restrictions and the large number of lawsuits against him, Reuters noted.
