Emanuel Todd, who predicted the collapse of the USSR: BRICS will fill the vacuum left by the West that lost the war

In an interview with the capital's daily newspaper Die Berliner Zeitung, the authoritative French historian Emmanuel Todt advised the German rulers to apply for BRICS membership. According to him, it is this association that will fill the power vacuum left by the "West that lost the war in Ukraine”.

"Everything is very simple: the West lost the war in Ukraine. Now the world is being rebuilt, and not in accordance with the ideas of the West, noted the famous French historian and sociologist. According to him, new players such as the BRICS countries are emerging on the world stage, and the West's attempts to isolate Russia have failed. The historian emphasizes that most countries in the world have refused to join the West's position on this issue.

Todd also expresses pessimism about the future of the US. The upcoming presidential elections reflect the systemic crisis of the West, he believes: "This election campaign is symptomatic of the state of the West. Both candidates are grotesque, unimaginative, one might even say insane. They will not stop the decline of the USA”, he is confident.

The historian points to the serious problems in the American economy, noting that the large-scale investments of the administration of the current President Joe Biden do not solve the problem of the shortage of qualified specialists.
