In front of a cinema in the city of Krefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, police shot a man who had previously activated incendiary devices in three places and apparently wanted to enter the cinema, "Bild" reported, quoted by BTA.
Under cover of darkness yesterday evening, the man approached a Federal Employment Agency building and threw an incendiary device. It is alleged that he then set fire to a car parked in front of the building and fled in the direction of the central railway station. In the immediate vicinity of the station, the roof of a residential building burned down. The police suspect that the attacker also set this fire.
When the man appeared in front of a cinema in the center of Krefeld, the police stopped him. Two policemen drew their service weapons and shot at the man at the entrance. He was hit by at least one bullet and went down, seriously wounded. An ambulance took him to a clinic, and a police spokesman told Bild: "A weapon was used in the center of Krefeld. We cannot say anything more at this time.“.
