EU foreign ministers have adopted sanctions against Iran over the supply of ballistic missiles to Russia for use in Ukraine, diplomats confirmed to DPA today.
EU sanctions adopted at a meeting in Luxembourg target companies and individuals involved in Iran's ballistic missile program and the supply of these and other weapons to Russia.
The European Union has already warned Iran several times not to provide ballistic missiles to Moscow and sees this step as breaking a new taboo.
Iran categorically denies that it has supplied weapons to Russia. According to Tehran, it has strategic cooperation with Moscow, although it is not related to the war in Ukraine. Tehran claims that providing military aid to warring countries is inhumane.
