Five people, including two children, have died in a UK motorway crash which police say may have been caused by a car moving in the oncoming lane, BNR reported.
A 42-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman from Glasgow, traveling in a Toyota”, with two boys aged 15 and 7, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third child - a seven-year-old boy who was also in the car - was airlifted to Newcastle Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the other car - “Skoda” - a 40-year-old man from Cambridgeshire.
Police in Cumbria said they were informed of a moving “Skoda” in the opposite lane of highway number 6.
Eyewitnesses who were stuck in heavy traffic nearby reported seeing flames and black smoke and what appeared to be a vehicle fire. The police urged witnesses and anyone with any information about the incident to call them immediately.
