Schemes for evasion from mobilization revealed in Ukraine - 1

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced on Friday that together with police have busted four new "fugitive schemes" from mobilization in several areas of the country, writes the BBC, quoted by News.bg.

According to the information, in the Kyiv region, the deputy head of the military medical commission was caught issuing fictitious medical certificates for those absconding from military service. The SBU claims that he is part of a criminal group discovered back in April.

In the Kharkiv region, the head of the military medical commission of the Chuguev region was detained, who, according to the SBU, sold fake certificates used to remove absconders from the military register.

In the Lviv region, the SBU accused the owner and administration of one of the private universities of aiding those fleeing the army. According to the SBU, they enrolled people who exceeded the license limit as students. Studying at a university gives the right to deferment from mobilization. During a search of the owner of the university, a grenade launcher, rifles, carbines and almost five thousand cartridges were found.

Two people were detained in the Kirovohrad region who, according to the SBU, were selling fictitious disability certificates. People from the medical commission, which determines the disability groups, helped them to forge certificates.

In the Rivne region, official suspicions were raised against five new members of the group, which was revealed in October this year. Among the defendants are an employee of the medical committee on disability, a department head at a local hospital and two other doctors.
