The group “Hamas“ expressed readiness for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and called on US President-elect Donald Trump to put pressure on Israel to stop hostilities. This was stated by a high-ranking representative of the Palestinian Islamist movement to Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
„Hamas“ is ready to reach a cease-fire agreement in Gaza if such a proposal is presented and provided that Israel abides by the arrangements. This was stated by the member of the political bureau of the group Bassem Naim. He added that he expects the US government and Donald Trump to put pressure on the Israeli authorities to end the “aggression” in Gaza.
The situation in the region remains critical. The Ministry of Health of “Hamas”, quoted by Reuters, said that since the start of hostilities after the attack of “Hamas“ against Israel on October 7, 2023, the number of dead Palestinians has risen to 43,764 and the wounded – up to 103,490 people.
