The President of the United States Joe Biden called the retaliatory Russian strikes on Ukrainian army positions “outrageous”.
On Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that within a week, Russian armed forces had struck long-range weapons sites of the Ukrainian armed forces in response to attacks deep inside Russian territory.
„This attack is outrageous and serves as yet another reminder of the urgency and importance of supporting the Ukrainian people in their defense against Russian aggression,” Biden said.
He noted that the US will continue to provide military aid to Ukraine, stressing that new arms deliveries to Kiev are expected soon.
Earlier, Western media, citing US officials, reported that the Biden administration was preparing a $725 million arms package for Kiev, which could include landmines, drones, Stinger missiles and munitions for the MLRS HIMARS.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that on the night of November 28, the Russian Federation launched a massive strike with 90 missiles and 100 drones, which hit 17 military and defense sites in Ukraine. He emphasized that the Russian Ministry of Defense and the General Staff are already selecting new targets to strike on Ukrainian territory. Putin also said that he does not rule out the use of the new Russian missile system "Oreshnik" against military and military-industrial facilities or decision-making centers, including in Kyiv, as authorities in Kyiv continue to attempt to strike vital Russian facilities, including in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
