Serbia is undertaking a serious strengthening of its military power to avoid a repeat of the dramatic events of 1995 and 1999 – the operation “Storm“ of the Croatian army and the NATO bombings, said the country's president, Aleksandar Vucic, in an interview with Pink TV, Focus broadcasts.
„We do not see Croatia as an enemy, but we are arming ourselves seriously and we will continue to do so in order to prevent the things that happened in 1995 and 1999,”, stressed Vucic. He explained that according to the new doctrine of the Serbian army, the country should be stronger than a significant part of its neighbors.
The president emphasized the rapid and efficient arming of the army, which will continue in the future. “We will not attack anyone, but let no one try to commit aggression against Serbia,” he added, assuring that his country will continue to grow militarily and economically.
Vucic acknowledged that Croatia is a more developed country, but emphasized that Serbia is growing at a faster pace and closing the gap between the two countries.
