An Israeli airstrike has targeted a group of Palestinians tasked with guarding of aid trucks in Rafah, in which at least seven people were killed, medics said early this morning, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

TASS, citing the "Quds" portal, associated with the Palestinian movement "Hamas", reported that the dead were at least 12, and the wounded – 20.

According to the portal, aid convoys were fired upon in the western neighborhoods of Rafah city, near the al-Mawasi humanitarian zone. The Ministry of Health of Gaza has not yet commented on this information, according to TASS.

Also, TASS, citing the press service of the Israeli army, reports that several Israelis were injured as a result of shooting at a bus by an unknown person on a highway in the West Bank of the Jordan River.

"A terrorist opened fire on an Israeli civilian bus near Al-Hader Junction [in the West Bank]. As a result of the attack, several civilians were injured and are currently receiving medical attention, the statement said.

A senior US military officer visited Beirut yesterday to oversee the withdrawal of the first Israeli troops from Lebanon under the ceasefire reached last month, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA .

General Michael Kurila, commander of CENTCOM, visited the ceasefire monitoring headquarters in Beirut and met with the commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Joseph Aoun, CENTCOM said in a publication in "X".

Kurila was there to observe "the ongoing first withdrawal of the Israeli Defense Forces and the replacement of them by the Lebanese Armed Forces in al-Khyam, Lebanon, as part of the agreement”, CENTCOM said.

"This is an important first step in implementing a permanent cessation of hostilities, and it lays the groundwork for a permanent cessation of hostilities, and it also lays the groundwork for continued progress," Kurila said.

The United States and France are acting as observers to the 60-day truce between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, which will see a phased withdrawal of Israeli troops after more than a year of war.

According to the agreement, the fighters of "Hezbollah" will leave their positions in southern Lebanon to move north of the Litani River, which runs about 30 km north of the border with Israel.
