I think that the problem is between Sofia and Skopje, not in Brussels and Paris. This was stated in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio by Vlado Buckovski, former Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia. In the program "RadioTochka" he commented on Bulgarian-Macedonian relations.
"We will be stronger if we have the support of Bulgaria and Bulgaria will be stronger if we are in the EU. But there is strength in both countries for this not to happen," said Buckovski.
"I am sorry that these 17-18 months we did not start talking as true friends. If we want Bulgaria to be our strategic partner, we need to find tools. I don't believe that we should look for every problem in Belgrade and Moscow, the problem is in Skopje and Sofia", commented the former Prime Minister of RSM.
"We need to work for future generations. Let them come and see that Sofia is a European capital, closer than Thessaloniki and we, despite the problems with Greece, believe that the people of Thessaloniki are closer to us than the people of Sofia", recommended Buckovski.
