The Chinese authorities oppose groundless accusations against China for cyberattacks that have no evidence. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, commenting on media reports about hacking the electronic system of the US Treasury Department.
“China consistently opposes hacker attacks in any form. We are even more opposed to the dissemination of false information about China for political purposes“, she emphasized at the briefing.
As the Chinese diplomat specified, Beijing does not accept groundless accusations that are not supported by evidence. She recalled that the Chinese Foreign Ministry has repeatedly clarified its position on this issue.
As The New York Times reported, according to the US Treasury Department, hackers allegedly linked to China launched a cyberattack on the ministry. Earlier, the press secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Washington, Liu Pengyu, told TASS that the US should stop using network security problems for slander and defamation.
