"The Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan" will carry out unscheduled inspections of airports and aircraft, as well as qualification of crews after the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) flight near Aktau airport, the republic's Ministry of Transport announced.
"In accordance with the instructions of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, the "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan" will carry out an unscheduled audit of the technical condition of airports and aircraft, as well as a re-check of the qualifications, permits and competence of the crews of aircraft of Kazakh airlines", the ministry announced.
Kazakhstani President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a meeting on December 28, 2024 pointed out the need to investigate the state of aviation security in the country after the incident.
