On the night of January 27, analysts from the DeepState project recorded an advance by Russian troops in the Toretsk area, as well as near Andreevka and Novoelizavetka in Donetsk region, cited by Focus.

According to the "Militariny" portal, Russian troops continue their attempts to establish full control over Kurakhovo, Toretsk and Chasov Yar. They are also expected to advance towards the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region, which could lead to new hostilities and an intensification of the seizure of territories in the Donetsk region.
In early January, fierce fighting was already reported in Toretsk, where the front line practically divides the city. "Russian troops are using scorched earth tactics, destroying infrastructure and Ukrainian positions," a number of publications in the Ukrainian media note.
