Fire Chief: All aboard passenger plane and military helicopter killed - 1

The Washington Fire Chief, quoted by the AP and DPA, announced that all 64 people aboard the "American Airlines" passenger plane and the three people aboard the military helicopter that collided over Washington are presumed dead, BTA reports.

The crash occurred during a landing at "Ronald Reagan" National Airport near the US capital.

At least 28 bodies have already been pulled from the waters of the Potomac River, where the plane and helicopter crashed after the collision. Although the search for the remaining bodies continues, authorities believe there are no survivors from the incident.

The cause of the crash is still unknown, but investigators say the incident could have been prevented. The fuselage of the plane was found upside down in the water, and the wreckage of the helicopter was also found at the crash site.

Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser expressed her condolences and said that this tragic incident is a huge loss for the community and all those affected. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport will reopen for operations at 11 a.m. local time after the investigation into the incident is complete.
