Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that Ukraine will agree to negotiations with any other representative of Russia, but not with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"Putin is afraid to talk to me," Zelensky said at a press conference in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.
The Ukrainian president announced that he had received a new version of an agreement with the United States to give Americans access to Ukraine's rare earth elements, which is "fundamentally different" from the previous one and "unprofitable" for his country.
"This draft agreement must be reviewed by lawyers", the Ukrainian president said.
Zelensky also said that Ukraine would not recognize the previous US aid as loans that must be repaid.
Ukraine will not accept any peace agreement in the conflict with Russia, which threatens the country's European integration, he stressed.
According to him, there has been no contact with the US to monitor compliance with the moratorium on strikes on energy facilities. "I warned Washington that a ceasefire will not work without monitoring," Zelensky said.
