North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited the training base of the special forces of the Korean People's Army and led comprehensive drills, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
It is noted that together with the chairman of the State Affairs Commission, the base was visited by the DPRK Defense Minister No Gwan Chol and Chief of the General Staff Ri Yong Gil. According to KCNA, special forces soldiers conducted complex tactical exercises and shooting competitions. The DPRK leader stressed that strengthening special forces is the main component of the army's development strategy.
According to KCNA, the DPRK leader led a shooting drill and also personally tested a new sniper rifle that will enter service with the army's special forces, expressing great satisfaction with its characteristics.
