The European Union is preparing a new package of sanctions against Russia in order to increase pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
“We will increase the pressure“, Von der Leyen said ahead of a meeting of European leaders in the Albanian capital Tirana.
She specified that the new sanctions would include measures against the “Nord Stream 1“ and “Nord Stream 2“ gas pipelines, adding new vessels to the list of the so-called shadow fleet, lowering the price ceiling for Russian oil, as well as additional restrictions on the Russian financial sector.
