A Russian drone hit a passenger bus in the Ukrainian city of Kherson this morning, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine reported. The incident occurred at around 07:00 local time (coinciding with Bulgarian time), when an unmanned aerial vehicle hit a bus carrying passengers. Five people were injured as a result of the strike, BTA reports.
About an hour and a half later, at around 08:30, Russian forces began artillery shelling the city, as a result of which five more people were injured. This brings the total number of injured from the morning attacks in Kherson to ten.
The Ukrainian prosecutor's office published a photo of the hit bus on its Telegram channel. There is no official comment from the Russian authorities on the strike at this stage.
Kherson, located on the right bank of the Dnieper River, close to the front line, remains under systematic Russian attacks. Russian military forces are positioned on the opposite bank of the river.
We recall that just a few days ago - on May 17 - a similar incident in Sumy region killed nine people when a Russian strike hit a passenger bus near the town of Belopolye, about 10 kilometers from the border with Russia.
