The air defense forces have also neutralized 288 of the 355 drones sent by the Russian troops, with 233 of them intercepted and 55 redirected by electronic warfare means without causing damage.
The attack last night was the largest Russian drone attack since the beginning of Russia's war in Ukraine in February 2022, the Ukrainian Air Force told Reuters.
So far, the record number of drones that Moscow's forces have used to attack in one night was 298, the agency explained.
US President Donald Trump made it clear that he was losing patience with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, issuing one of his sharpest criticisms of him after Russia continued to bombard Kiev and other Ukrainian cities with drones and missiles for a third consecutive night, the Associated Press reported.

Earlier that day, the US president made similar comments at the airport in Morristown, New Jersey.
In his post, Trump said that Putin “needlessly kills a lot of people“ and that “missiles and drones are being fired at cities in Ukraine for no reason“.
According to Ukrainian officials, the attack on Sunday night, which killed at least 12 people and injured dozens, was the largest since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
The US president warned that if Putin wanted to conquer all of Ukraine, it would “lead to the collapse of Russia“.
